Let us Install Python 3.4.2 on  Ubuntu 14.04

You Can Install in Linux Mint 17 also

instruction to Install python
Step1 :- sudo apt-get install libssl-dev openssl
Step2 :- cd /opt
Step3 :- wget python.org/ftp/python/3.4.1/Python-3.4.1.tgz
Step4 :- tar -xzvf Python-3.4.1.tgz
Step5 :- cd Python-3.4.1/
Step6 :- ./configure
Step7 :- make
Step8 :- sudo make install
Step9 :- sudo ln -fs /opt/Python-3.4.1/python /usr/bin/python

To Verify type
python3 or python

How to Install OS X Mavericks with Niresh 10.9.0 on Vmware Workstation 11 with Full Screen Resolution


Hello Everyone,

In this tutorial,

Let us Install OS X Mavericks with Niresh 10.9.0 with AMD & Intel Support Version 10.9.0 on Vmware Workstation 11 with Full Screen Resolution  --  64 Bit

You Can also Install in Virtual Box or Microsoft Hyper-V.

Minimum System Requirements
1.  x86-64 CPU (64-bit Macs, with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7, or Xeon processor).
2GB or 4GB of System Memory (RAM).
3. At least 10GB of free Hard Drive Space.
4. Graphics Card and Display capable of at least 1024x768.
5. Either a CD/DVD drive or a USB port for the installer media.
6. Internet Access

Step1:- First Download Virtual box setup below is this link to download 

select -- Virtual Box 4.3.X for Windows hosts 32 or 64 bit.     (Where 'X' is the Latest Version)

Step3:- Download ISO Image OS X Mavericks.....Click Below link

size -  5.08GB

For Full Screen Resolution..

1.   Probably notice one thing: your screen resolution is 1280x1024 (or 1024x768 if you forgot to turn off GraphicsEnabler=Yes). 

2.  On Mac OS X Niresh Mavericks
Finder, and go to the folder "Extra". Open the file org.Chameleon.boot.plist. 
Between <dict> and </dict> in the file, insert the following line.

  Note :- Replace "1920x1080x32" OR "1600x900x32" with whatever Resolution you're using.

<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1920x1080x32</string>

Then  Power OFF  Virtual Box ..
          
3.  Now on Windows System
Open the Command Prompt  (make sure you are logged into an Administrator account on Windows)
Type  cd "C:\Program Files\Oracle\Virtualbox" then press enter

Copy this two lines and paste into the Command Prompt ..replace  "OS X Mavericks" with your Name.
VBoxManage setextradata "OS X Mavericks" "CustomVideoModel" "1920x1080x32"
VBoxManage setextradata "OS X Mavericks" "GUI/CustomVideoModel" "1920x1080x32"

Example :- vboxmanage setextradata "OS X Mavericks" "CustomVideoMode1" "1920x1080x32" 

Start The Machine i.e., Mac OS X Mavericks on Virtual box

Hello Everyone,

In this tutorial,
Install Wine 1.7 on Fedora Workstation 21 - 64bit

You Can also install in Redhat 7, CentOS 7, Oracle Linux, Cloud Linux.

Installing Repository
Step1 :- yum -y groupinstall 'Development Tools‘

Step2 :- yum -y install flex bison libX11-devel freetype-devel libxml2-devel libxslt-devel prelink libjpeg-devel libpng-devel

Downloading Wine 1.7
Step3 :- su cloud (switch to normal user)
Step4 :- cd /tmp
Step5 :- wget http://citylan.dl.sourceforge.net/project/wine/Source/wine-1.7.34.tar.bz2
Step6 :- tar -xvf wine-1.7.34.tar.bz2 -C /tmp/


Installing Wine 1.7   -  32-Bit

Step7 :- cd wine-1.7.34/
Step8 :- ./tools/wineinstall



Installing Wine 1.7   -  64-Bit
Step9 :- cd wine-1.7.34/
Step10 :- ./configure --enable-win64
Step11 :- make
Step12 :- make install (Run as root user)


Note :- time it takes around 25mints or more. Please be patience

Let Install Install Skype 4.3.0.37 on Ubuntu 14.04 / 14.10 - 32bit


Skype
Remove Older Version or Upgrading
Step1 :- sudo apt-get remove skype skype-bin:i386 skype:i386
Step2 :- rm -rf ~/.Skype
Step3 :- sudo apt-get install sni-qt:i386

Install Skype from Terminal
Step4 :- sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
Step5 :- sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install gdebi
Step6 :- wget http://download.skype.com/linux/skype-ubuntu-precise_4.3.0.37-1_i386.deb
Step7 :-  sudo gdebi skype-ubuntu-precise_4.3.0.37-1_i386.deb

Install Skype From Ubuntu Software Center
Search for and open ‘Software Sources’ or 'Software & Updates' in the Unity Dash
Select the ‘Other Software’ tab
Check/tick the boxes next to the two entries headed ‘Canonical Partners’
Exit, and hit ‘Ok’ on the software reload prompt
Then search for Skype in the Ubuntu Software Center and install it as you would any other software

Install Skype from Canonical Partner Repository
Step8 :- sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ $(lsb_release -sc) partner"
Step9 :- sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install skype


How to Remove Skype
sudo apt-get remove skype skype-bin
sudo apt-get purge skype
sudo apt-get remove skype skype-bin:i386 skype:i386

How to Install Oracle 11g R2 in Debian/LinuxMint and Ubuntu

    1. For large-scale installation we need to use multicore processors with High availability.
    1. Recommended minimum RAM needed for Oracle 12c is 2GB or more.
    1. Swap must be enabled double the size of RAM.
    1. Disk space must be more than 10GB, its depends on edition which are we going to choose for installing.
    1. /tmp directory must have free space more than 1GB for error free installation.
    1. Supported Linux operating systems are Linux Mint, Kubuntu, Debian.
    1. Both x86_64 and i686 packages are required for installation.
    1. Screen resolution must be more than 1024×768 resolution

    Check the Hardware Requirements :-
    1. HARD DIS         : 10 GB
      a. TEMP Space    : 500 MB
      b. C:\Inventory  : 4.0 MB
      c. ORACLE HOME   : 6.0 GB
      d. DATAFILES     : 3.5 GB
         TOTAL         : 10 GB
    1. RAM              :  2 GB Minimum
    2. DISK SPACE       :  Total 10 GB
    3. PROCESSOR        :  AMD 64 Bit OR INTEL 64 Bit
    4. VIDEO ADAPTER    :  256 COLOURS
    5. SCREEN RESOLUTION:  1024 X 768 Minimum
    6. Operating System :  Windows 7 64 Bit
                          Windows 8 64 Bit
                          Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012 64 Bit

    1. Installing Dependencies
    Logging into ROOT and Open Terminal
    step1:- sudo apt-get update
    step2:- sudo apt-get install gcc make binutils gawk x11-utils rpm build-essential libaio1 libaio-dev libmotif4 libtool expat alien ksh pdksh unixODBC unixODBC-dev sysstat elfutils libelf-dev binutils lesstif2 lsb-cxx libstdc++5

    2. some softlinks to start the Installation
    step3:- 
    echo 'Red Hat Linux release 6' | sudo tee -a  /etc/redhat-release
    sudo mkdir /usr/lib64
    sudo ln -s /etc /etc/rc.d
    sudo ln -s /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1 /lib64/
    sudo ln -s /usr/bin/awk /bin/awk
    sudo ln -s /usr/bin/basename /bin/basename
    sudo ln -s /usr/bin/rpm /bin/rpm
    sudo ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc_nonshared.a /usr/lib64/
    sudo ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpthread_nonshared.a /usr/lib64/
    sudo ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6 /lib64/
    sudo ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6 /usr/lib64/

    3. Adding oracle user and oinstall, dba, nobody group
    Step :- sudo adduser oracle
    step4:- sudo addgroup oinstall
    step5:- sudo addgroup dba
    step6:- sudo addgroup nobody
    step7:- sudo usermod -g nobody nobody
    step8:- sudo useradd -g oinstall -G dba -p
    step9:- password -d /home/oracle -s /bin/bash oracle
    step10:- sudo mkdir /home/oracle
    step11:- sudo chown -R oracle:dba /home/oracle

    4. We need to do changes in startup script
    step13:- mkdir /etc/rc.d --> cat >> rc.d
    for i in 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 S
    do ln -s /etc/rc$i.d /etc/rc.d/rc$i.d
    done

    5. we will create the directory for installation, and changes it owner to oracle.
    step14:- sudo mkdir -p /u01/app/oracle
    step15:- sudo chown -R oracle:dba /u01

    6. We need to modify the kernel parameter
    step16:- echo "#">> /etc/sysctl.conf
    echo "# Oracle 11gR2 entries">> /etc/sysctl.conf
    echo "fs.aio-max-nr=1048576" >> /etc/sysctl.conf
    echo "fs.file-max=6815744" >> /etc/sysctl.conf
    echo "kernel.shmall=2097152" >> /etc/sysctl.conf
    echo "kernel.shmmni=4096" >> /etc/sysctl.conf
    echo "kernel.sem=250 32000 100 128" >> /etc/sysctl.conf
    echo "net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range=9000 65500" >> /etc/sysctl.conf
    echo "net.core.rmem_default=262144" >> /etc/sysctl.conf
    echo "net.core.rmem_max=4194304" >> /etc/sysctl.conf
    echo "net.core.wmem_default=262144" >> /etc/sysctl.conf
    echo "net.core.wmem_max=1048586" >> /etc/sysctl.conf 
    echo "kernel.shmmax=1073741824" >> /etc/sysctl.conf

    Note: kernel.shmmax = max possible value,
    e.g. size of physical memory in bytes. In my case machine is having 2GB so we are specifying 1GB. Adjust the parameter as per your configuration

    7. Load new kernel parameters
    step17:- sudo sysctl -p

    8. I have to change shell configuration
    step18:- cp /etc/security/limits.conf /etc/security/limits.conf.original
    echo "#Oracle 11gR2 shell limits:">>/etc/security/limits.conf
    echo "oracle soft nproc 2048">>/etc/security/limits.conf
    echo "oracle hard nproc 16384">>/etc/security/limits.conf
    echo "oracle soft nofile 1024">>/etc/security/limits.conf
    echo "oracle hard nofile 65536">>/etc/security/limits.conf

    9. need to extract the Oracle Download File1 & File2 both the zip to start the installation
    step19:-  cd /home/oracle
    unzip linux_11gR2_database_1of2.zip
    unzip linux_11gR2_database_2of2.zip

    10. Now i will start the installation from /home/oracle/database.
    Login as a oracle user
    step20:- su oracle

    11. Go to the binaries and start the installation as a oracle user
    step21:- cd /home/oracle
    step22:- chmod 777 -R database
    step23:- cd database
    step24:- ./runInstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs

    Password issue

    13. In Create Inventory, it should default as below:
    step25:-
    Inventory Directory: /u01/app/oraInventoryoraInventory Group Name: oinstall

    Testing from URL

    User Name: SYS
    Password: your_secret_password
    Connect As: SYSDBA

In this tutorial,

Let us Install Latest Eclipse IDE in Ubuntu 14.04 / 14.10 Desktop


You Can also Install in Linux Mint 17,Debain, xubuntu.

Eclipse IDE Install
1. Install Java (JRE/JDK)
Step1 :- sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jre
Step2 :- sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jdk

2. Download Eclipse Kepler IDE
Step3 :- sudo mv eclipse-SDK-4.3.2-linux-gtk.tar.gz /opt/
Step4 :- cd /opt/
Step5 :- sudo tar -xvf eclipse-SDK-4.3.2-linux-gtk.tar.gz .tar.gz


3. Create new Desktop File
Step6 :- sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/eclipse.desktop

Then add the following lines to the above file and save
Step7 :- [Desktop Entry]
Name=Eclipse
Type=Application
Exec=/opt/eclipse/eclipse
Terminal=false
Icon=/opt/eclipse/icon.xpm
Comment=Integrated Development Environment
NoDisplay=false
Categories=Development;IDE
Name[en]=eclipse.desktop

 I changed the exec line in the gedit file from
 Exec=/opt/eclipse/eclipse
to
Exec=env UBUNTU_MENUPROXY= /opt/eclipse/eclipse
and it worked right


4. Additional Tasks
Run the following command to automatically install it in Unity
Step8 :- sudo desktop-file-install /usr/share/applications/eclipse.desktop

Create a symlink in /usr/local/bin
Step9 :- cd /usr/local/bin/
Step10 :- sudo ln -s /opt/eclipse/eclipse

For Eclipse icon to be displayed in dash
Step11 :- sudo cp /opt/eclipse/icon.xpm /usr/share/pixmaps/eclipse.xpm
