How to Install and Configuring X2Go Server along with Client on Ubuntu, Debian and Linux Mint

How to Install and Configuring X2Go Server along with Client on Ubuntu, Debian and Linux Mint

What is X2Go ?

X2Go is an open source remote desktop software for Linux that uses a modified NX 3 protocol. X2Go gives remote access to a Linux system's graphical user interface. It can also be used to access Windows systems through a proxy. Client packages can be run on FreeBSD, Linux, OS X, or Windows

What this Update Addresses ?

1. Much of the power behind Linux comes from the command line and the ability for a system to be managed easily remotely.

2. However, for most users from the Windows world or novice Linux administrators, there may be a preference to have access to the graphical user interface for remote management functionality.

3. Other users may simply have a desktop at home that may need to have graphical applications managed remotely as well.

4. Which ever situation may be the case, there are some inherent security risks such as the remote traffic not being encrypted thus allowing malicious users to sniff the remote desktop session.

When the computer starts, the system BIOS begins to check a pre-determined list of drives and devices that may contain an operating system such as Windows. The computer can boot an operating system from a hard drive, floppy drive, CD or DVD optical drive, USB storage device, or a network. The order in which the devices are checked is configurable through the BIOS setup menu.

What is the default boot order?
The default boot order settings for the computer are configured in the factory. The default boot order determines what the computer boots to first.

An operating system not found error message may appear if a floppy disk or an optical disk is inserted into a computer that does not contain an operating system. If this error occurs, remove the disk and restart the computer.
If you have installed a second hard drive and the computer does not boot, select the hard drive which contains the operating system as first boot device in the hard drive group.
